How to redact a PDF before uploading it to ChatGPT

ChatGPT needs the document. It does not need the Social Security number, the bank account, or the address inside it. Remove those on this device, then upload the secured copy. The same steps apply before any other AI tool.

What to do

1. Open the PDF on this device. Nothing is uploaded, and no AI reads it here.
2. Find marks sensitive text in yellow. You review every mark. Search a name if you want that removed too. A signature is a box you draw.
3. Protect removes the marked text. The numbers the AI needs can stay. Then upload that secured file.
